The Title Plan is the first port of call in resolving any boundary dispute. However, it is important to note that the Title Plan only shows the general position of the boundaries. In order to determine the position and ownership of the boundaries between two properties more precisely it is necessary to obtain the Land Registry documents for each of the properties, and to determine what these documents collectively say.
This is an essential first step in order to clarify boundary ownership and responsibility, and also to ascertain the exact position of each disputed boundary.
